The Accounting and HR Manager is responsible for the smooth, day-to-day functioning of our accounting and finance function. This includes revenue and expense tracking and allocation, AR and AP management, collections, reconciliations, and cash flow management. The position also works closely with Management on budget tracking, variance analysis, and division profit and loss. You will be the main point of contact for accounting and finance issues at the company. You will handle sensitive information, the nature of which can range from company financials, employee salaries and benefits, to legal documents and correspondence. As such, discretion is of the utmost importance in this position to ensure the safety of company data and sound company policy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

General Accounting tasks

  • A/R: process bank deposits, phone/email collections, client invoicing, customer inquiry's
  • A/P: Enter all bills, pay in timely manner, itemize all entries to appropriate accounts
  • ADP Payroll: process payroll 2x/month
  • Monthly Account and bank reconciliations in Vista accounting software
  • Manage maintenance of company files: W-9 collection, copies of all invoices, bank records, etc.
  • General Accounting support to staff

Human Resource/Admin tasks

  • Administer employee benefits: health/dental/vision insurance, transit, PTO, and retirement
  • Request, process and file all employee on-boarding docs: I-9, W-4, CA forms, direct deposit, benefits forms, etc.
  • Maintain all employee files including pay stubs, PTO forms, expense forms and review documents

Financial Management and Taxes

  • Prepare all federal, state and city licenses, taxes, workers comp insurance, etc. with assistance from outside counsel when necessary
  • File necessary payroll forms and payments on-time
  • Offer suggested actions for different financial situations as they arise debt financing, partnerships, cash strategy, etc.


Issue monthly reports for all divisions, including:

  • Sales reports
  • Commission reports
  • Issue monthly financial statements including BS, IS, SCF.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration
  • 5+ years relevant experience with small to midsize businesses
  • Proficient experience with Vista accounting software
  • Highly motivated self-starter that is exceptionally well organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A team player who communicates well across the organization and views their personal success as integrally connected with the success of the team and the performance of the organization as a whole
  • Ethically driven, with personal integrity, able to maintain confidentiality.
